China Plans to Raise Average Life Expectancy
The Chinese government has pledged to increase the average life expectancy by approximately one year from the 2020 level by the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025). China also vows to significantly enhance public health services, bring under control or eliminate a number of major diseases, continuously improve the quality of medical services, and further refine the national health policy system.

Shanghai Aims for 100-Billion-Yuan Beauty and Health Industry by 2025
Shanghai plans to develop its beauty and health industry into a 100-billion-yuan sector by 2025. The “Oriental Beauty Valley” in Fengxian District, as the core carrier of Shanghai’s big health industry, is expected to achieve an industrial scale of 100 billion yuan by 2025. The spatial layout of the industry focuses on the “Oriental Beauty Valley” in Fengxian, with Minhang and Pudong’s Zhangjiang as two key areas, and Jing’an, Songjiang, Qingpu, Jiading, and Baishan districts forming a collaborative network, creating an integrated whole-industry-chain development model.
